CHARACTER NAME: Dorian Pavus
CHARACTER SERIES: Dragon Age

[OOC]

Backtagging: Yes, feel free. If you are going to take a long time to respond, say a delay of a day or more, please send me a PM or make a comment to let me know.

Threadhopping: This depends on the circumstances. I can't see this happening in many memes but perhaps in a worked out PSL or in a game it could be allowed.

Fourthwalling: Not in memes, please. Feel free in situations that allow for it.

Offensive subjects: Like just about every character out there Dorian is problematic. Please keep in mind that I do not support or condone his thoughts on slavery. Those views are his and I actually quite enjoy him learning the other side of things and how wrong he can be on them.

Ships: Dorian/Inquisitor, Dorian/Iron Bull, Dorian/Cullen, Dorian/Dragon Age Males, Dorian/Male Character.

[IC]

Hugging this character: Yes, though you may not get the response you're expecting. He's not good with physical affection.
Kissing this character: Men only for romantic situations. Dorian is canonically gay and I do not support any storyline/mod that makes him bi or straight. Women are free to kiss him platonicly.
Flirting with this character: Yes. He flirts freely and easily with women, a bit more cautious with men.
Fighting with this character: Please PM me first so that we can work out the details.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Please PM me first so that we can work out the details.
Killing this character: No.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: He will assume your character is using blood magic and will retaliate with force. It's not a smart thing to do to him or at least let him know you're doing to him.

Warnings: Dorian is a person who grew up owning slaves and in a society that supports institutionalized slavery. He has some positive views on it and this may bother some people. Please keep that in mind. He is canonically gay and I will not be changing that no matter what people ask for in PSLs. If you've played the game and done his personal quest I should not have to explain to you why he's staying gay, always. I do not find the Dorian/Bull relationship abusive and will not argue about it with anyone who does. This character can be kind of an asshole sometimes. Do not take it personally if he's difficult and a jerk to your character.

[VERSES]

Canon: Exactly what it sounds. Dorian is an Altus Mage from Tevinter who has joined the Inquisition to stop the Venatori and make the world right again. If your Inquisitor romanced Dorian please let me know because I am happy to play out romantic scenes.

Hollywood AU: Dorian is the son of famous Hollywood actor and director Halward Pavus. He has a reputation for being a party boy and breaking a string of Hollywood starlette hearts. He's often cast as the leading man in romantic pictures. He is a closeted gay man, trying to hide in the spotlight. He works primarily for Inquisition Pictures.

Modern AU: Dorian is a professor of Classical History at Columbia University. He is also the disowned son of a very conservative Senator who sent him to a 'pray the gay away' Christian camp when he was a teenager. Dorian ran away from the camp and never came back. He's a bit eccentric with his many tattoos and pierces but he's a brilliant man and deeply passionate about his work if very cautious about his personal life.

PSLs: If you are interested in a PSL with Dorian please PM me or comment on this post. I have happy to work out details with people for threads and storylines.

Sundays were glorious days of nothing and Dorian planned them that way. He did all his remaining work from the week either Friday night or Saturday afternoon so that way he had Sunday free to do absolutely shit all. The only time this changed was when he wrote scholarly articles for journals. Those took all his focus and he liked to work them out over weekends. No students could bother him when he worked on them at home.

He was not a fan of organized religion but he took the phrase 'a day of rest' very seriously. Sundays were for lounging in bed, long showers and whatever was on TV that caught his interest. He would read for pleasure or spend time pleasuring himself or his lover. Sundays were wonderful days.

Which was why he was so damn annoyed that on Sunday the door bell rang around the same time he was making breakfast. That did not imply rest. It imply some sort of nosy bastard at the door. It was doubly annoying because Bramen was spending the weekend and looked adorably rumpled, hunched over his morning coffee with fresh love bites on his shoulders.

"Can you see what religious nut wants to sell God to us and make them go away? I don't want to burn the omelet," he waved towards the door with his free hand. "Tell them we're quite happy living in sin and they can wish us a merry trip to hell."

An affair with a student could get him in quite a bit of trouble but Dorian cared very little for the politics of the University. Of course, it helped that he had tenure now. No one would doubt that Dorian Pavus was a leading expert in Roman history and traditions, especially those pertaining to to death. The University was lucky to have him as a Professor. There were plenty in Rome who had many offers that were very, very generous. They could over look his personal affairs, mostly his tendency to party. This was the first time he had taken up with a student.

It wasn't as if Bramen was in his program or the student he was advising. Those students were strictly off limits because it was a professional relationship. Bramen? He was just a random student that had ended up in his class that was clever enough to warrant Dorian's attention. That attention had gone into romantic feelings and well, here they were.

The relationship didn't interfere with his work any. Dorian was in his office, grading papers that he had promised his students would be done by the end of the week. He still had plenty of time to do so. He was waiting for Bramen to get home from his shift but that thought was in the back of his mind. He was not sitting at the door waiting like some sort of excited puppy. He was smitten, yes, but he wouldn't let that interfere with his work.

Tonight, he was hungry and recovering from his hangover. Hangovers always made him hungry because he couldn't stand to eat anything for a few hours until the worst of it passed. He had his ginger tea which kept his stomach down and hydrated him which was what he desperately needed. Once Bramen got home with dinner Dorian would jump all over that.

Many people assumed Dorian chose his little alcove in the library because it would keep him away from everyone but the truth was the opposite. From his chair Dorian could see every crow that came and went from the Spymaster. He could lean over the railing and see what Solas was up to. He could look out the window on to the courtyard to see soldiers training, Cullen walking the ramparts, and those in the tavern. He had a view of everything if he wanted it.

It allowed him the perfect view of the Horsemaster bringing in a new hart, one that pranced and tossed its head to the point of being almost unmanageable. That was until his dear Inquisitor came trotting over to help.

A few moments of Bramen obviously talking to the beast it calmed and the Horsemaster handed over the lead rope to him. Together, elf and hart set off for the stables which were beyond Dorian's view.

Now, Dorian had tried often to figure out what sort of tricks Bramen used to manage the temperamental beasts. He had read a few texts that touched on taming harts but none of them mate it any clearer how his lover managed to work miracles with the animals. Once again, driven by curiosity Dorian got up from his chair and headed outside.

Observation was a good way to learn. Perhaps he'd catch Bramen running around in the pens with the hart, shirtless. A mage could dream, couldn't he?
